Almost 10 thousand addicts a day are using Methadone.
Figures released by the Minister for Health show that by the end of January there were 9615 people using the drug substitute.
Since 2011, there's been a year on year increase in the use of methadone.
Some of those taking the drug have been on it for 25 years.
