Aer Lingus flight forced to turn back after take off

An Aer Lingus Plane has been forced to return to Dublin airport shortly after take off.

The flight headed for New York made a precautionary landing after a mechanical fault.

The plane landed safely in Dublin before midday.

Aer Lingus says the 266 passengers on board were transferred to a different plane.
