Dollymount Strand is considered to be one of the best beaches in the world for surfing. And the world's best kitesurfers will descend on the beach all weekend to compete to be crowned "King/Queen of the Bay".
For spectators who want to stay dry but still get in on the action, there are beach volleyball tournaments and live music.
Two of Ireland's own water sport competitors will be there to try and claim their title: Premier Kite Racer, Jade O'Connor and World Class Windsurfer and Paddle Boarder, Katie McAnena.
They'll be competing against world champions like Nick Davies who's been wakeboarding for 14 years.
The highlights over the next two days include a competition in the world's fastest growing water sport:
- The KBC World Tour: Kite boarder Crossing Tour championship.
- The Dublin Bay SUP Classic: part of the World Series from Waterman League. The best Stand Up Paddle Boarders from around the world and Ireland compete. It's the world’s fasting growing water sport. Individuals and teams will compete a technical 6km and gruelling 14km Marathon.
- Mystic Big Air: Wakeboarders from all over Ireland will show off their acrobatic skills as they're pulled by a jetski and fly through the water.
The Battle for the Bay action kicks off tonight.
