Two-time Oscar-winner Gene Hackman has been found dead alongside his wife Betsy Arakawa in their US home.
The couple's dog was also found dead at the property in New Mexico.
The 95-year-old actor received widespread fame after playing Lex Luthor in the original Superman films. The double Oscar winner was also known for roles in Behind Enemy Lines and Mississippi Burning.
Police in Santa Fe say they don't believe there was any foul play.
