Gardaí are on the hunt for a suspected drug dealer who failed to show up for a court appearance today in Dublin today.

John Paul Gantley, who lives at Dolphin House, is one of two men charged in connection with the seizure of €650,000 worth of heroin on Dublin's southside.

On October 2nd, officers from a Special Garda Tasks Force stopped and searched three men on Crumlin Road.

They found a small quantity of heroin on them and during a follow-up search at an apartment in Rathcoole, they seized a further €650k of the drug.

One of the men was released, while the other two were brought before the courts where they were charged and granted bail.

36-year-old Keith O'Brien with an address at Westpark, Rathcoole was the first to be called at their latest court appearance today.

The court heard that the Garda file isn't ready to be handed over to the DPP just yet and he was remanded on continuing bail until February 2nd.

Nobody responded when John Paul Gantley's name was called out shortly afterwards and Gardai applied for a bench warrant for his arrest.

The District Court Judge duly obliged and officers have now been tasked with the job of finding the 30-year-old accused.
