A woman in her 60's has died and her daughter has been seriously injured following a shooting incident in the capital this afternoon.
The incident occurred at Killinarden Place in Tallaght at approximately 4:20pm.
A man in his 50's, who is believed to be a neighbour of the victim, has been arrested and is being treated in hospital for minor injuries.
The victim's daughter, a woman in her 20's, is recovering in Tallaght hospital, her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A shotgun has been recovered.
