A Glasnevin man has been jailed for two and a half years for breaking into a pensioner's home, threatening him with a knife and beating him.
The court heard 27-year-old James McGuire of Mobhi Road held the blade to Kevin Thormey's throat at his home in Claremount Court last October.
The 65-year-old's attacker has also been ordered to stay away from the victim and his family for 15 years after his release from prison.
And speaking outside court afterwards, Mr. Thormey said this gave him great comfort:
