Around 7,000 homes are without power after lightning strikes this morning.
ESB is reporting 250 faults to power lines on the network from in parts from Kerry across to Wicklow, including Bandon in Cork and Kilkenny city.
A spokesperson says ESB crews are working to restore power in the areas affected.
