Dublin City Council plans to spend more than 120 thousand euro a month on the Poolbeg incinerator project.
That's despite a significant question mark hanging over the future of the project.
So far more than 95 million euro has been spent on the Poolbeg project without a brick being laid.
Now Dublin City Council plans to spend an extra 620 thousand euro on the project to the end of June.
The money is being used to pay for site security, monitoring, professional advice and other costs.
The additional budget is going ahead on the basis that construction on the plant will start in July.
However the future of the project hinges on an upcoming ruling by the European Commission on complaints over state aid and procurement rules.
