Four out of 10 homeless people have been sexually assaulted, according to a new report.
Many victims didn't report the crime out of fear and a belief that they wouldn't be listened to.
100 homeless adults were interviewed for this research project aimed at highlighting the reality of homelessness in Dublin.
The report uncovered that 40 per cent of homeless people have been sexually assaulted while homeless, while 57 per cent have been sexually harrassed, mainly within homeless services.
Over 80 per cent of people have experienced physical violence and bullying or intimidation while homeless.
Most interviewees said their mental health has deteriorated due to their experiences in homelessness.
