36 More Coronavirus-Related Deaths And 345 New Cases In Republic

Another 36 people diagnosed with coroanvirus have died in the Republic.

Today’s figures show there has now been a total of coronavirus-related deaths here to 210, and is the largest number of deaths in a day to date.

A further 345 cases have also been confirmed today - bringing the total number of cases to 5,709.

27 of the deaths reported today happened in the east, six in the north and three in the south of the country.

The patients included 17 females and 19 males, while 24 were reported as having had underlying health conditions.

Figures released today also show a total of 42,484 coronavirus tests have been carried out here to date.

Earlier today, it was confirmed three more people have died from the coronavirus in the North.

It brings to 73 the number of people who lost their lives to the virus in Northern Ireland - while the total number of deaths on the island of Ireland 283.

97 new cases were also reported in the North today, meaning there are now a total of 1,255 people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Northern Ireland.
