There were 30,000 requests for a taxi on FreeNow in one hour after an Ed Sheeran gig in Dublin last week.
That's according to the head of the hailing app, who says a depleted taxi fleet and lack of public transport alternatives is behind delays at peak times.
Many have complained of a taxi crisis since hospitality reopened, with waits of up to an hour becoming the norm after pubs and clubs shut.
According to reports, the ongoing shortage of night-time taxis in Dublin City has left people stranded and hospitality staff sleeping in their place of work.

Concerns have been raised around safety issues of people at night due to taxi’s cancelling fares or not accepting short-distance fares.
Many are urging the government to address the crisis immediately.
