248 new indoor bike parking spaces are now available on the northside.

The locations are Jervis Street Car Park and Q-Park The Spire, and they can provide secure parking for 244 bikes and four spaces for cargo/accessible cycles.

Dublin City Council says it has been actively seeking suitable north side locations following the opening and success of the indoor cycle parking facility in Drury Street which caters for 300 bikes.

Councillor Christy Burke, Chair of the Traffic and Transport SPC, says: "I am delighted with this substantial increase in secure, indoor cycle parking facilities in the city. Availability of secure cycle parking is an influential factor for people considering cycling as a mode of transport. Partnerships and initiatives such as this are essential if we are to meet our Climate Action objectives."

Brendan O’Brien, Head of Technical Service (Traffic) with Dublin City Council says: “We welcome this significant increase in cycle parking in the city and we will continue to seek opportunities to deliver similar initiatives”.

Neil Cunningham, APCOA’s Managing Director for Ireland, says: “This collaboration with Dublin City Council offers a safe and secure bicycle parking facility for cyclists who are looking to access the inner city for shopping business or leisure purposes. It also provides a wide range of opportunities for the further expansion of APCOA’s Urban Mobility Hubs to deliver sustainable solutions and benefits to our clients, customers who use the car parks and to the local communities."

Alastair MacDonald, Head of Commercial & Operation at Q-Park Ireland says: "We are very pleased to be working with Dublin City Council to provide additional bicycle parking in such a busy Dublin city centre location. We know how important it is to have somewhere safe and secure to store bicycles for people returning to the office and journeying into the city."
