17 people have been arrested for immigration offences as a result of an investigation in fraudulent Covid-19 social welfare activity.
A number of business premises, such as restaurants, in Dublin City Centre were searched yesterday.
A total of five business premises were searched as part of this multi-agency operation led by the Garda National Immigration Bureau.
The searches were conducted as part of an investigation into fraudulent Covid-19 Social Welfare activity.
A total of 17 people, 9 men and 8 women, ranging in age from 20 to 60 were arrested for immigration offences.
Sixteen of those arrested have been charged and bailed to appear before Dublin District Court on November 18th.
One man aged in his 50s remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before Dublin District Court this morning in relation to an outstanding bench warrant.
