100 children aged between 12 and 15 were hospitalised with anorexia in 2020 and 2021.
They were treated as inpatients in the four public children's hospitals in Dublin.
Seven were only 12 years old, and seventeen were aged 13.
Suzanne Connolly, the chief executive of Barnardos, says it's very worrying children so young are affected;
"It's really important that as soon as we become aware that a child has an eating disorder that an appropriate assessment is given and then the services that are appropriate to that's child's particular needs are provided."
