One in three teenagers in Tallaght are experiencing mental health difficulties.
The area also has serious gaps in its youth mental health services, according to a new report by Trinity College.
Out of 11,000 12 to 18-year-old's, a third suffer anxiety and depression while a fifth are dealing with varying levels of stress.
Marian Quinn from the Childhood Development Initiative says a lot are either getting the wrong help or none at all:
"In fact its the young people who appear to be the most vulnerable and the most in need who often literally fall between services."
She says they are teenagers that have a dual diagnosis, which could include mental health difficulties like stress and depression along with the likes of autism or behavioral difficulties.
The CDI says a 24/7 national network of drop-in mental health services for young people should be introduced.
It says it's badly needed to deal with the high numbers dealing with mental health difficulties.
