The O’Connell Plinth at City Hall was originally constructed to support the monumental statue of Daniel O’Connell, ‘The Liberator’, that is now located inside the building.
The artwork by Alan Phelan is the first of six sculptures that will be unveiled across the capital over the next 18 months.
Sculpture Dublin aims to raise awareness of Dublin’s sculptural heritage and to commission new works in parks and public spaces city-wide.
