New Covid-19 restrictions for the hospitality and live events sector come into force from today.
Nightclubs must close, while organised indoor events are now limited to 50 percent capacity.
Pubs and restaurants are allowed to seat a maximum of six people per table, with table service only.
And for the first time a Covid cert will be needed for hotel bars and restaurants, leisure centres and gyms.
Ger Conroy, who runs three gyms in Dublin, says he doesn't think the requirement is necessary;
"If you look at the reports very few cases have been reported from gyms since the start of this pandemic, it shows that gyms are a safe environment. So I don't think it's necessary but unfortunately we don't have an option here, it is the law."
Cases
The Department of Health confirmed a further 2,950 cases of Covid-19 yesterday.
There were 536 patients being treated in hospital with the virus, an increase of 33 on yesterday. 110 of them were being treated in ICU.
