Dublin's former top Garda says the net is tightening around Daniel Kinahan.
Pat Leahy, a retired Assistant Garda Commissioner, says the Kinahan Hutch feud has left a stain on the country and is confident the gangs will be dismantled.
Daniel Kinahan has been identified in the High Court as a senior figure in organised crime but is currently living in the Middle East.
The 43 year-old's recent attempts to reinvent himself in the boxing world failed after a public outcry that led to the Government contacting authorities in the UAE.
Mr Leahy, former head of the Dublin Metropolitan Region, says Kinahan was wrong to think he could reinvent himself;
"The people of Ireland wouldn't accept that and our government wouldn't accept it and we saw the response that came from that. So I think he made a huge mistake thinking that he could white wash what that group have done to our capital city."
