A mystery donor has given €260,000 to Trinity College.
It is to pay the monthly stipends for PhD students whose lab based projects were interrupted by Covid-19.
The college confirmed the news on Twitter with around 87 students eligible for the monthly fee.
The donor is a former student.
The college extended the academic deadlines for PhD students, however some external funders didn't extend their funding to cover the period leading up to the new deadline.
