Hozier and Fontaines DC are doing the nation proud as they’re listed in the nominations for the upcoming BRIT Awards.
Hozier secured a place in the Best International Song competition for his chart-topping hit Too Sweet.
The song earned him top spot on the US Billboard chart over the summer, making him the first Irish person to achieve this since Sinead O’Connor released Nothing Compares 2 U In 1990.
He’s got tough competition in his category however as he’s up against the likes of Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter.
Meanwhile Dublin rock band Fontaines DC are nominated in the Best International Group Category, alongside Confidence Man, Amyl and The Sniffers, Future & Metro Boomin and Linkin Park.
The band have seen huge success in the last year and are also up for two Grammy Awards: Best Rock Album and Alternative Music Performance.
No surprises however that after the year she had, Charli XCX is the most nominated act for this year’s Brit Awards, with a total 5 nominations.
The BRIT Awards will be taking place in London on the 1st of March.
