This would have been so iconic!
Musical icons Madonna, Barbra Streisand and Bette Midler almost recorded a song together.
In a resurfaced interview clip from a January 2023 episode of the Barbra Archives podcast, Streisand‘s A&R representative Jay Landers revealed that Madonna and Midler were considered for features on Streisand's 1993 album Back to Broadway.
The rendition that was suggested they sing together was "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" from 'Annie Get Your Gun'.

David Foster did a demo for the song, which was to highlight each singer's different styles.
Madonna would sing "Anything you can sing, I can sing sweeter" in a disco beat reminiscent to her style. Midler, meanwhile, would chime in with a brief homage to "Wind Beneath My Wings."
Just after everyone said yes to the idea, and before the trio got together, Madonna pulled out last minute for reasons still unknown.
Landers described it as "one of those, fish [that] got away stories", claiming that it "would have been fun."
