The trailer for a brand new Christmas rom-com has been released. Last Christmas stars Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke and Crazy Rich Asians' Henry Golding.
The film, which is written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings, is inspired by George Michael's biggest hits.
Thompson also plays Clarke's mother in the movie, directed by Paul Feig.
Plot
Last Christmas follows Kate (Emilia Clarke) who is reluctantly working as an elf in a seasonal pop-up shop in London.
Tom (Henry Golding) volunteers with the homeless nearby and seems too good to be true when he walks into her life.
As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two.
But sometimes, you gotta listen to your heart.
George Michael Tribute
Last Christmas features the music of George Michael, including the bittersweet holiday classic of the film’s title.
Thompson began writing the film while George was still alive. Since his death on Christmas Day in 2016, it's understood Feig and Thompson have worked closely with his estate.
The film will premiere brand new unreleased material by the legendary Grammy-winning artist, who sold more than 115 million albums and recorded 10 No. 1 singles over the course of his iconic career.
“The great sadness is that he’s not here to be a part of this,” Feig has said. “But he knew it was going to happen, and that gives me such joy. We feel like he’s here with us", Feig told The Guardian.
Release Date
Last Christmas will be released in cinemas in November.
