'The Lady In The Van' is a true story written by Alan Bennett and based on his own memoirs. He puts a comedic spin on the time he spent with a rather eccentric women who goes by the name of Miss Shepherd.
After temporarily allowing her to park her van in his London driveway, she ends up staying there for 15 years. Bennett tells the story of how a begrudged favour became a relationship that would change both their lives.
