It's official! There's going to be a fourth Toy Story film.
John Lasseter spoke about the film's plot at the Disney D23 Expo over the weekend.
"As we were looking around we came up with this idea because Bo Peep was not in Toy Story 3, and it actually worked beautifully into this…So Woody and Buzz light-year go out to find Bo Peep and bring her back, and it’s a very special and emotional love story. But it’s extremely funny too."
The film's love story surrounding Woody and Bo Peep, will be inspired by Lasseter's marriage to his wife Nancy.
This film won't be a traditional sequel, but more of a stand alone film that's part of the same universe.
This is good news for fans, as many believed that Toy Story 3 was the perfect way to end the emotional journey with Andy.
Bo Peep didn't appear in Toy Story 3 because she was sold at a garage sale by Andy's family. This will be the very reason why Woody and Buzz go off to find her.
Toy Story 4 is set for a 2017 release.
