There is no release date just yet!

Sydney Sweeney is set to star in a film adaptation of video game “Split Fiction”.

From developer Hazelight Studios and publisher Electronic Arts, “Split Fiction” mixes fantasy and science fiction to follow the adventures of a pair of authors, Mio and Zoe, who somehow become trapped in the worlds they wrote.

Written by director and Hazelight studio chief Josef Fares and Sebastian Johansson, “Split Fiction” is a co-op adventure game that features gameplay mechanics involving split-screen combat, platforming challenges and differing abilities for each character.

Since it's release on the 6th of March, the game has become a huge hit with players and critics. It sold more than two million copies in the first week following its launch.

Variety have reported that 'Wicked' director Jon M. Chu will be at the helm of this film adaptation, with Story Kitchen set to produce. The script is being written by 'Deadpool & Wolverine' screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Sydney herself will executive produce, while it is reportedly being decided which lead role she will take on: Zoe or Mio.

It was earlier reported that Sydney was working with Michael Bay to create an adaptation of another popular video game, 'OutRun', with Bay directing and Sweeney producing from a script by Jayson Rothwell.

The in-demand actress is also currently filming the third season of HBO’s 'Euphoria', which is due to be released in 2026. As well as that, she is set to take on the role of Hollywood celebrity Kim Novak in Colman Domingo’s 'Scandalous!' and professional boxer Christy Martin in an untitled biopic.
