Could he be the next Obi Wan KENobi?

Ryan Gosling is reportedly in talks to star in the next Star Wars movie.

The new iteration of the popular franchise is separate to the original George Lucas trilogy, and is set to be directed by Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy.

The movie has been in the works by Levy for the last years as he works alongside writer and frequent collaborator Jonathan Tropper, but there’s been no word of casting until now.

While not much else is know about the movie right now, The Hollywood Reporter confirms it will be a standalone movie, set to be produced under Levy’s 21 Laps banner, together with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.

The latest film in the iconic saga was Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, which is set to be followed by The Mandalorian and Grogu in the summer of 2026.

If Ryan Gosling does sign on to the project, it will reportedly take priority in Levy’s schedule, as initially planned on doing a boyband movie with Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

We could picture Ryan Gosling in a galaxy far far away alright!
