Where could the story go next?
Apparently they’re talking about making another Mamma Mia!
The movies’ producer Judy Craymer had previously spoken about a third film being in “its earliest stages” however there had been no word of it since.
Until Meryl decided to spill the beans!
The Oscar-winning actress was asked about a third film as she attended the Cannes festival recently and confirmed she was due to have a meeting with Judy Craymer “imminently”.
"I don’t know how they’re going to do it. They have an idea", Streep said. “I haven’t heard it yet but it’s in [my diary] and I’m going to hear about it pretty soon. Of course I want to do it. I think folks love it".
Well that all sounds promising!

This news may be surprising to fans of the Mamma Mia franchise, as those who’ve seen Mamma Mia 2 know that Meryl Streeps character Donna was killed off in the sequel.
But it’s been reported that Judy has found a way to include Donna in the story and believes that Meryl Streep could be persuaded to rejoin the cast.
There is a story there, and I do think Meryl should come back — and if the script is right, she would, I think, because she really loved playing Donna", the producer said, “I don’t want to over-egg it, but I know there’s a trilogy there".
If it’s good enough for Meryl it’s good enough for us!
