Greta Gerwig's version will be released in Autumn 2026!
Actress Meryl Streep is reportedly in negotiations to voice Aslan in Greta Gerwig’s Narnia.
The lion character is a God-like character in the story, offering advice to the characters as they face struggles.
Deadline claimed that Streep is currently in deliberation with the film’s executives about the role but that they have yet to arrive at an agreement.
Meryl and Greta have previously worked together on the 2019 romance film "Little Women".
Aside from Meryl, actor Daniel Craig and singer-songwriter Charli XCX are also said to be in talks for the roles of Digory’s uncle and Jadis, the White Witch, respectively.

In C.S. Lewis' “The Chronicles of Narnia,”, the novel series tells the story of the origin of Narnia and follows Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, who ultimately discover the magical world through Digory’s uncle’s magic.
Netflix announced it would develop a new series and film projects based on Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia back in 2018.
Before it hits the streamer, Greta's version of 'Narnia' will show in cinemas for two weeks in Autumn 2026.
