Jordan Peele is the writer and director who brought us Get Out and Us.
His latest project is a movie called is called Candyman and this time around he's teamed up with director Nia DaCosta.
The story is set in Chicago's Cabrini Green neighbourhood.
Artist Anthony and his gallery director girlfriend Brianna live in a loft on the site of an old candy factory.
The plot was once home to the Cabrini towers, but they were torn down when the area was gentrified.
For years local residents told stories about Candyman, a supernatural killer with a hook for a hand.
He was summoned by looking into a mirror and repeating his name five times.
Stuck for inspiration for his art, Anthony starts to explore the old tale and a wave of violence is unleashed.
