Do you agree with Julia?
There’s a reason why Notting Hill 2 doesn’t exist - and it’s because Julia Roberts didn’t agree with it!

According to Richard Curtis, the man behind the classic 1998 romcom, he pitched the idea of a mini-sequel to Julia Roberts and she rejected it.
“I tried doing [a mini sequel] with Notting Hill where they were going to get divorced and Julia [Roberts] thought that was a very poor idea."
However leading man Hugh Grant loved the idea of him and Julia’s characters not getting their happy ending!
“I'd like to do me and Julia and the hideous divorce that's ensued with really expensive lawyers, children involved in [a] tug of love, floods of tears. Psychologically scarred for ever. I'd love to do that film,” the actor joked at a Q&A event.
Hugh Grant also revealed that his real-life partners have always questioned his Notting Hill character’s behaviour in one particular scene.
“There's a scene in this film where she's in my house and the paps come to the front door and ring the bell and I think I just let her go past me and open the door," the actor told Vanity Fair.
"That's awful. I've never had a girlfriend, or indeed now wife, who hasn't said, 'Why the hell didn't you stop her? What's wrong with you?' And I don't really have an answer to that – it's how it was written. And I think he's despicable, really."
So don’t hold out too much hope that a Notting Hill sequel is going to happen any time soon!
