There's been three names circulating lately to play the iconic singer!
Film director and producer Jon M Chu has addressed recent rumours about who will play the lead role in the upcoming Britney Spears biopic.
Earlier this year, Jon confirmed that a film adaptation of Britney’s 2023 memoir The Woman In Me would get underway this year, with Britney herself involved in the creative process.
Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown spoke out about her hopes of landing the starring role. According to an article published last week, Life & Style claimed that there were several other A-listers “clamouring” for the role besides Millie.
An insider told the magazine that Sabrina Carpenter had her eye on the role, while also mentioning Ariana Grande, who recently landed her first Oscar nomination for her work on another of Jon’s films, Wicked.
However, Jon took to X over the weekend to set the record straight.
He wrote: “None of this is true. Sounds exciting but have not had one conversation about casting this movie yet. We are way too early in development. Sorry.”
