Sitting in a warm cinema on a dreary dark Wednesday morning in February is a rare treat. And today that's me! It’s the ideal way to spend your morning and the added bonus is to be watching the excitement generated from the JDIFF team about this year’s festival.
In its 13th year, the list of amazing, unseen, popular and sometimes star studded films due to be screened across Dublin between the 19th – 29th March is definitely exciting!
Getting the chance to watch Serial Killers in Poland, Russell Crowe in Turkey, Child abduction in China and even a Rom Com from Ireland, without having to leave the comfort of our city, is definitely on my to-do list.
As well as World Cinema, a huge selection of Irish films and world documentaries lead the charge, but if you’re more into the nostalgic type then the Cult Film Club showing of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is for you.
And, not to be outdone by Canne and Sundance... the 2015 Jameson Dublin international Film Festival have brought their A Team of international celebrities which include Kenneth Branagh, Alan Rickman, Ryan O’Neal, Julie Andrews, Russell Crowe and Kim Cattrall.
Leading the Irish charge will be Jack Raynor, Orla Brady, Liam Cunningham and many more in attendance.
So if you, like me, like a trip to the cinema, make the 2015 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival your destination.
Or if you are lucky enough to get out more, take advantage of this gala of movies, and cuddle down in a cosy cinema with a selection of world cinema treats... and popcorn... and chocolate... and Nachos... and oh bring me everything... nom nom nom...
