We couldn’t imagine anyone but Barry playing Oliver!
Released in cinemas last year and on Prime Video over Christmas - Saltburn has been one of the most talked about movies in recent months.
The movie has already earned Summerhill’s Barry Keoghan a Golden Globe nomination for best actor, with Oscar buzz generating as well.
He plays the lead Oliver, alongside Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi, and fans can see that the pair seem like genuine friends from the interviews they’ve done to promote the film.
Speaking to British Vogue, Jacob Elordi revealed that the film’s director and writer Emerald Fennell actually wanted to cast a well known actor in Oliver’s role.
Jacob joked that he knew he had been Emerald’s first choice for the role of Felix, but that he had been presented big actor to be his Oliver.

“She said she wanted Timothée Chalamet for it, and I said, ‘Have you thought about Barry Keoghan?” Jacob joked, and Barry burst out laughing in response.

Given the tone, it’s unclear whether Jacob is completely joking or not but we’re glad our Barry got the role in the end!
