Henry Cavill announced last night that he will not be returning as Superman after all.
Despite having announced previously that he'd be returning to the role, Henry Cavill made a statement on his Instagram last night announcing that a decision has been made to drop him from the films.
It's believed that they're making a big switch up at DC as this news comes after Patty Jenkins, the director of the first two Wonder Woman films, announced she wasn't returning to direct the third.

Henry most recently had a cameo as Superman at the end of Black Adam, teasing his return to the character.
But writing on Instagram the actor revealed "I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it's sad news, everyone. I will, after all, not be returning as Superman."

"After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn't the easiest, but that's life."
