If you're a fan of the massive Broadway musical, you know that a movie adaption starring Ariana Grande is on its way.
Since they began rehearsals back in June of 2022, we've been fed the tiniest tidbits of how filming is going, but nothing really showing us what to expect from the movie. Filming only appears to have started in the last few months so only now we're getting tiny glimpses of what to expect.
Most of the anticipation is around Ariana Grande, undoubtedly the biggest name attached to the movie, and how she'll look in the role of Glinda The Good Witch.
This week Ariana excited fan, when she posted a still of herself in the movie to Instagram that showed her in costume wearing an instantly recognisable Glinda gown.
However, the shot was extremely darkly lit, not to mention it was taken from a distance, so it's understandable that fans were a little disappointed with this "first look".

Even when you squint you can barely see her!
Soon after this, a publication called Splash News obtained much brighter and closer-up photos of the superstar looking ethereal in her role as Glinda The Good Witch. So at least we can be reassured now that this movie isn't being shot in total darkness 😂
Aside from the mega famous Ariana Grande, there's another few big names involved in the highly anticipated musical adaptation.
Cynthia Erivo will be starring opposite her in the starring role of Elphaba, and the likes of Michelle Yeoh (who recently won an Oscar for Everything Everywhere All At Once) and Jonathan Bailey from Bridgerton are also among the cast. And the man himself, the Wizard of Oz, will be played by none other than Jeff Goldblum.
The flick is being directed by Jon M. Chu, who has also worked on impressive titles from Crazy Rich Asians to In The Heights.
When can we expect to see this highly anticipated movie? Not for another year nearly - and that's only the first half!
Wicked: Part One will be released on November 27th 2024, with Part Two expected to be released a year later.
