Dublin crime movie Cardboard Gangsters is on track to become the biggest Irish film of the year at the box office.
The movie, which was written by Love/Hate star John Connors, took in €78,000 over the weekend. The gross box office income now stands at €192,000, which is an increase of over 80% on last weekend’s figures.
It means the film charted in 3rd, just behind Hollywood blockbusters Transformers and Wonder Woman.

Cardboard Gangsters has also won several international awards including including Best Film at the Manchester International Film Festival.
The movie sees John Connors play the lead role of Jay Connolly, a DJ and small time drug dealer in the northside suburb of Darndale.
