“Ssssmokin’!”
Cameron Diaz is ready for a sequel to The Mask, on one condition. If her co-star Jim Carrey is up for it too.
Diaz, who’s making a return to a 10-year break from acting with new movie Back In Action, made the revelation in an interview with Access Hollywood.
“If Jim’s on board, I mean, I’ve been riding those coattails from day one,” the actress said when asked about the possibility of a sequel.
Diaz played a glamorous club singer called Tina Carlisle, opposite Jim Carrey playing a shy banker whose life is turned upside down when he discovers a magical mask that turns him into an uninhibited trickster.
And the thing is, Jim Carrey has already said he’d up for doing a sequel to The Mask!
“Oh gosh, you know, it has to be the right idea,” the actor said in an interview to comicbook.com
“If somebody had the right idea, I guess… It’s not really about the money,” Carrey said.
“I joke about the money… But I never know. You can’t be definite about these things. I said I’d like to retire, but I think I was talking more about power-resting. Because as soon as a good idea comes your way, or a group of people that you really enjoyed working with and stuff, it just — things tend to change.”
