Wicked is officially out in cinemas everywhere today, but as previews and premieres have been taking place all week, the reviews have already started rolling in.

Not only that but one of its leads, Ariana Grande, has officially made Variety’s prediction list for Oscar nominations.
The publication ranked the actress at number 1 on their predicted nominees for Best Supporting Actress, alongside Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Perez and Isabella Rossellini for Conclave at number 2 and 3. As it stands, Ariana is their projected winner.
We won’t see the actual shortlist of nominations for the Oscars until next year, but Ariana’s performance is getting glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike.

The film is already being called the best musical to screen adaptation of all time and it’s debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive score of 92%.
Rotten Tomatoes critics applauded the two lead actresses, commenting that their “sheer bravura and charm make for an irresistible invitation to Oz.”
The Independent’s review praised Ariana Grande’s “phenomenal vocal talent” and comedic timing that is in tune with Kristin Chenoweth, the original Glinda the Good from the Broadway adaptation.
