The trailer for the highly anticipated biopic of legendary singer Amy Winehouse has dropped, with Industry actor Marisa Abela in the starring role.
The movie follows Amy Winehouse's whirlwind journey to fame, and the trials and tribulations that came with it.
According to the film description, it will “focus on Amy’s extraordinary genius, creativity and honesty that infused everything she did, journeying from Camden High Street in the 1990s to her global fame and many accolades”.
The movie is directed by 50 Shades Of Grey director Sam Taylor Johnson and stars Jack O'Connell in the role of her husband Jack O'Connell.
While the film does have the backing of Amy Winehouse's estate, some fans aren't keen on the singer's life being dramatised for the big screen.
"Too soon to make an amy movie. She’s still fresh in my brain and I loved her and her music." one commenter wrote on Instagram.
Others commented that the documentary on Amy's life released back in 2015 already told her story in the right way.
"Amy (2015) is one of the most heartbreaking documentaries I’ve watched in ages, I highly recommend it. For me, it’s undoubtedly lessened my interest in this"
However some fans had a very positive reaction to the trailer.
"I have goosebumps" one fan wrote on Youtube, "can't wait to see this!"
Back To Black is set to be released on 12th of April in Ireland and the UK.
