Ministers have warned the government's relationship with NPHET needs to be rebooted after the last 48 hours.
Relations between the two groups are at an all time low after the government rejected NPHET's recommendation to move to level five and Tánaiste Leo Varadkar was strongly critical of the group.
Independent TD Mattie McGrath is one of those very critical of the CMO, while Public Expenditure Minister Michael McGrath admits there's an issue with the relationship.

Social Democrats co-leader Catherine Murphy says it's the right call on balance, while Green Party leader Eamon Ryan said the public will ultimately decide whether it's the right call.

It's expected there will be some tense exchanges on the issue at Leaders' Questions in the Dáil at 2.
