Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for Ireland. The yellow wind alert is in place until 4pm today.
The forecaster says: "Strong and gusty southwest winds will veer westerly early this afternoon with some severe and damaging gusts."
"Heavy squally spells of rain will also continue", Met Eireann added.
The rain in Dublin is expected to clear this afternoon with a mix of sunshine and scattered showers following.
The first half of the day is expected to be mild with highs of 11 to 13 degrees but it will turn colder later.
Tonight & Tomorrow
It will be cold and blustery overnight in the city with some clear spells and passing showers. Lows of 0 to 3 degrees in fresh and gusty southwest winds. There could be a small amount of frost in sheltered spots.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, is expected to bring sunny spells and showers with hail and thunder. It will be a cold day with highs of just 4 to 6 degrees with fresh, gusty winds.
