Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy will be without his first-choice centre defensive pairing of Shane Duffy and Richard Keogh for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Georgia and Switzerland.

Keogh's been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury picked up on a team night out.

His club Derby say it was after an "alcohol-related incident" on Tuesday evening which ended in a car crash.

They've indicated a "small group" of players who stayed out drinking into the night will "pay a heavy price for their actions"

While Shane Duffy is set to be out for 'several weeks' with a calf issue picked up in Brighton's loss to Aston Villa.

He left the stadium on crutches and manager Graham Potter has confirmed this afternoon that the Derry man is set to have a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

Ireland travel to Tbilisi to take on Georgia on October 12th before facing qualification rivals Switzerland in Geneva three days later.
