Marcella is back!
After a wait of almost three years, the tortured detective returns to our TV seasons tonight.
Season 2 of the Nordic-noir wrapped up in April 2018 and left Marcella "legally dead."
The last time we saw Anna Friel's character she had signed over full custody of her children and had taken to living under a bridge with a rather large facial scar.
This time around our protagonist is living a new life as a blonde in Belfast who goes by the name of Kiera.
This season is said to be a 'change of pace' for the show which will dive deeper into Marcella's mental illness.
Some fans of the series have already seen season three!
It was released on Netflix in the States and a number of other countries over the summer.
The Ireland and UK delays were due to a storyline which was deemed too similar to the 2019 tragic deaths of 39 Vietnamese people found on a lorry in Essex.
Marcella season 3 kicks off tonight with a double episode at 9pm on ITV.
It will come to Netflix later this year.
