A man in his twenties has been arrested by Gardai investigating the theft of an 800-year-old mummy head from a Dublin crypt.
It was taken from St Michan's Church near Smithfield last month, which was badly vandalised during a late-night raid.
The head of the Crusader mummy and another skull were found in a bag on the church grounds, which appeared to be dumped there two weeks after the theft.
Archbishop Michael Jackson has said they will work hard to re-open the crypt to visitors:
"Our commitment will be to do everything we possibly can to make whatever is of interest available".
When launching the investigation, Assistant Commissioner Pat Leahy described it as an "outrageous" act:
"There is no sense nor meaning to what has taken place down there", he said.
