A man was stabbed to death in a house in west Dublin yesterday evening.
Just after 6pm, Gardaí found a man aged in his 20s at a house in Mulhuddart with apparent stab wounds.
He was treated by emergency services, but died at the scene in Castlecurragh Heath.
A man in his 40s was subsequently arrested, and is being held at Finglas Garda Station.
A post-mortem examination of the body of the victim was taking place at the city coroner's office in Whitehall this afternoon.
"It's absolutely tragic to hear that we've had another violent death in Dublin 15," Sinn Féin councillor Paul Donnelly said last night.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station.
