Gardaí have launched a murder investigation after a man in 20s was assaulted in a hostel in Dublin.
The incident happened at about 4.45 this morning on Harrington Street in the south inner city.
The 24 year old victim was taken to St James's Hospital, but later died from his injuries.
It’s understood he may have been stabbed following a row with another resident.
A 41-year-old man has been arrested and is being questioned at a Dublin garda station.
The scene here on Harrington Street is currently preserved, and gardaí are making door-to-door enquires in the area.
The State Pathologist has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will take place later today.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with any information that might assist in their investigation to come forward.
