A man in his 20s has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted robbery in Finglas.
A licensed premises was targeted at around 8.30pm yesterday evening.
A man, armed with a screwdriver, threatened a member of staff while demanding the contents of the till.
Two members of the public attempted to restrain the man and he fled the scene on foot. No cash or property was taken.
Gardaí arrested the man and took him to Blanchardstown Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He was later charged in relation to this incident and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
