A man has been arrested and charged after an assault and endangerment incident in Dublin.
Gardaí were threatened and a patrol car was damaged in the early hours of this morning.
Shortly before 5am, Gardaí attached to Balbriggan Garda Station were called to a house in Skerries.
There they found a man standing outside armed with a hatchet and two knives.
He threatened Gardaí with the weapons and smashed a window on their patrol car. However no one was injured.
Additional Garda units arrived at the scene and apprehended the man. He was arrested and taken to Balbriggan Garda Station.
The man has since been charged and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
