A man who was arrested in connection with the murder of Paul 'Frank' Byrne has been released without charge.

Gardai say a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

20 year old Mr. Byrne's skeletal remains were discovered in Wicklow in 2010.

He was last seen in Tallaght in Dublin during the summer of 2009.

An investigation was launched by Gardai in Tallaght after his mother reported him missing, before the body was found.

The bones were discovered by a forestry worker who was in the process of chopping down trees at the time.

The investigation was then taken over by Gardaí at Baltinglass Station. That was after DNA tests confirmed the remains were Byrne's.

A man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the case in the Dublin area yesterday but has now been released without charge, with a file to be prepared for the DPP.

This person was the fifth to be arrested in connection with the inquiry.

Investigations are ongoing.
